<idAbs>&lt;DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;The threatened species flora and fauna data is contained in 4 datasets:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;UL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Biodiversity - Threatened Freshwater Dependent Flora&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Biodiversity - Threatened Freshwater Fauna - Critical Habitat (NoFish)&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Biodiversity - Threatened Lamprey - Distribution&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Biodiversity - Threatened Shortjaw Kokopu - Distribution.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/UL&gt;&lt;P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;These datasets identify 16 critical freshwater habitats for 13 freshwater dependent threatened flora species, 18 critical freshwater habitats for four freshwater dependent threatened fauna species (excluding fish and freshwater invertebrates), and two threatened fish species in the Bay of Plenty.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"&gt;&lt;SPAN /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"&gt;&lt;SPAN STYLE="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Freshwater dependent threatened flora&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Ahikā Consulting 2021 identified 33 candidates for inclusion as freshwater dependent&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;threatened flora in the BOP region. These species and their associated locality records&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;were critically assessed by BoPRC Senior Environmental Scientist Shay Dean and DOC&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Flora Technical Advisor Paul Cashmore for their likelihood of presence/persistence in&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;these habitats. The analysis excluded 20 species from Ahikā Consulting&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;’&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;s 2021 report&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;based on being non-freshwater, unlikely to persist in the region, or not occurring in the&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;region. More recently (2023/2024), a further five species have been excluded due to&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;downgraded conservation threat status. All sites with reliable records of freshwater&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;dependent flora species were included.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"&gt;&lt;SPAN /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN STYLE="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Ahikā Consulting Report 2021&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;The 2021 Ahikā Consulting Report compiled a metadataset based on observation records, excluding fish and invertebrate species. This dataset was derived from 23 sources, including &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN STYLE="font-style:italic;"&gt;Auckland Museum collections, BOPRC EPT, BOPRC Key Biodiversity Flora Sites, BoPRC Marsh Bird, CHR Allan Herbarium, DoC databases, eBird, iNaturalist, MBIS Marine Fauna and Flora observations around New Zealand, MPI Protected species bycatch in New Zealand fisheries, National Vegetation Survey,&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN STYLE="font-style:italic;"&gt; &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN STYLE="font-style:italic;"&gt;NERMN, NIWA Invertebrate Type Collection, NIWA Freshwater Fish Database, and NZ Arthropod Collection&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;. Permission for data usage was granted through Creative Commons or obtained from hosting organisations. <statement>Dataset is complete but will be in a continuing state of change as new wetlands are mapped and old ones are remapped.
The attributes are a selected set from the three contributing wetland survey datasets plus some other that have been included for used by the Freshwater Wetlands Database. These attributes are not especially easy to understand. Please see the Geospatial staff for clarification if required.
Dataset is an amalgam of the Bay of Plenty, region wide survey, The Rotorua Lakes Ecological District survey and the Rotorua Lake Margins survey. New attribute columns have been added and others dropped due to the requirements of the Freshwater Wetlands Database</statement>
